Prison Reform in the United States. The issues with Prison reform, and why we need a better system. So many prisoners are released into a growing world with no help. They need the extra help, or they'll go back to joining gangs, or selling drugs. Prison reform would be so helpful for both the family, and the ex-con. We should be wandering why they keep coming back. They don't want to be there, but they'll keep coming back if they aren't helped. They need jobs, and soft skills that companies are looking for. That's something that they should be teaching while they're in prison, and when they're finally released. They should also go through therapy until they get back on their feet. I feel like it's a must, and nobody is talking about these issues. So hopefully my Website opens your eyes to the problem of our prison reform.

This is the cycle, and how the cycle can be broken. It looks easier than it actually is, but it’s up to us to make it easier for everyone. We want everyone to find it easy to break the cycle.
This graph shows the amount of arrests per year. This also shows the amount of people who get rearrested after a couple years. That’s a lot of people reentering jail each year. We shouldn’t be allowing people to be going back down the wrong road they once went down.
As you can see the increase of incarceration is insane. So many of our citizens are getting arrested. The chart seems to be going up rapidly rather it going down, and getting better. We need to find the problem for this, and solve it fast, or it’ll keep rising.
This shows that the treatment provided isn’t being used, neglected, or isn’t really talked about so they avoid it. I feel like better treatment should be given, and more involvement with those they love. I feel like having someone influential in their life can help cause change.
The image above shows the incarceration rates for each race, and their predicaments. It seems that black high school dropouts tend to be among the most arrested out of both other races combined. We should find a way to help them find another way to get them back on their feet. Give them soft skills that could make them more marketable to companies.
This shows that people coming from poor neighborhoods tend to be detained, and held in jail due to not being able to pay bail. The bail is typically excessive, and unable to be paid by these individuals. Bail should be taken into consideration depending on each individual, and their crimes.
This is showing that those who can’t pay the excessive bail won’t be let go. They’re kept in prison for minor things because they can’t pay. The bail should be another thing included in prison reform, and it should be made affordable depending on the crime, or violation.
This represents that jail isn’t enough for anyone. We need to understand that if we don’t help them with the resources then they’ll never change. It’s up to the jail to enforce change, and not more violence. Jail is currently a time out place, but we need it to be a therapeutic experience, and life changing.
